The MIND.set dataset – Implicit Associations toward Arab vs. White Men (IAT) contains two longitudinal surveys of the Implicit Association Test (IAT) conducted with participants from the DeZIM.panel. The aim is to record implicit evaluations of Arab-looking men compared to white-looking men based on spontaneous associations with positive and negative attributes. The IAT is based on the assignment of target stimuli (photographs of Arab-looking and white-looking men) to valence attribute categories (“good” vs. “bad”). The image stimuli were selected on the basis of a preliminary image validation study in which the perceived ethnic typicality of the targets was evaluated. The attribute stimuli consist of terms with positive and negative connotations. The data were collected as part of an additional survey in wave 13 (ew1, 2024), N = 2813, and the short Mindset survey (es2, 2025), N = 2158, of the DeZIM.panel using the MIND.set platform. The test data can be linked to the extensive sociodemographic and attitude-related panel data via a personal identification number. This enables the data set to be used for both cross-sectional and longitudinal analyses of implicit attitudes in the context of migration, discrimination, and social cohesion.</p></r:Content>
